The upcoming Municipal Election is on

October 24, 2022

The next municipal election will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022 to fill the office of the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville Council, comprised of one Mayor and six Councillors. The Town has six wards, two in "rural" areas and four in "urban" areas, each represented by one Councillor. A ward boundary review was conducted in 2020 that established new boundaries for 2022 Municipal Election. View our interactive ward map to locate your ward.

School Board Trustees will also be elected on Monday, October 24, 2022 for the York Region District School Board, York Catholic District School, Conseil scolaire Viamonde, and Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir. Visit the Candidates webpage to learn more about the nomination process. 

Are you on the Voters' List?

You must be on the Municipal Voters' List in order to vote on Election Day (October 24, 2022). If you were on previous Federal or Provincial voters' lists, it does not mean you are on the Municipal Voters' List. Your name may not appear on the Voters’ List if you have recently turned 18, changed your name, or moved to a new home.

Unable to cast your vote in person? Assign a proxy!

Any elector may appoint a proxy to vote on their behalf if they are unable to do so. The proxy must be eligible to vote. Please complete two (2) copies of Appointment of Voting Proxy - Form 3 and make an appointment with Clerk's staff at elections@townofws.ca for certification.
